Children’s books are a competitive market with scores of authors targeting middle and preschoolers with tales of fantasy and adventure. But, who better to author a kiddie story than a kid, and that’s exactly what Prince and The Magic Remote is all about.

Prince and the Magic Remote, a collaboration between a mom, Esther Francis, and her four-year-old son, Prince Alade, is a unique entry among children’s books by black authors. According to his mom, Prince showed a penchant for reading at a very young age. Now at just four years old, Prince has read over 3000 children’s books and counting.

Encouraged by Prince’s unique infantile imagination, his Mom solicited the idea of using the platform of storytelling to showcase Prince’s love of books, personal experiences, interests, creativity, and love for the family through Children’s picture storybooks. The first title Prince and the Magic Remote features illustrations and simple rhyming text that encourage diversity in children’s literature. The childish perspective and telling message make it a very relatable Children’s book for kids.

Converting a little child’s life into an art form he is most familiar with is brilliant as identifiable storytelling for kids. The book is a reflection of childlike imagination adapted to experiences of daily life. As the storyline goes, Prince is a boy who wishes for a magic remote on his 4th birthday, and guess what? Each time he clicks it, he gets his parents to agree to anything that he asks for- every child’s wish come true! This mother and son duo’s brilliant literary contribution could well be utilized both at home and within the education system for preschoolers and up. A practical visual showpiece, the book is ideal for moms wanting to encourage their children to express themselves as Prince has through his own storytelling.

What puts Prince and the Magic Remote in the category of best-selling children’s books is its unique USP being a book co-authored by a mother and her child. As a depiction of a child’s raw imagination expressed through the eyes of a little child, the book will no doubt identify with mommies and kiddies worldwide.

As for Prince Alade, his adventures will continue with a second book as part of a new series titled Oh, Where Did the Berries GO? Presently, the mother and son duo are preparing to launch an Indiegogo crowdfunding campaign for the book to which we very much look forward to seeing on our shelves.
