Centurion University extends all Possible Support to Fight Covid 19 in Odisha

Odisha, India – April 22, 2020 – Centurion University is working closely with the communities surrounding its campuses and District Administration in the fight against ‘CoVID 19’ in Odisha. One of the hostels in Gajapati has been converted to a ‘100 bed CoVID hospital’. All the facilities and resources have been leveraged to offer support such as meals and vehicles to the District Administration. Centurion University senior leadership, faculty and staff are fully engaged to coordinate and drive these efforts

Centurion University of Technology & Management (CUTM), one of the largest private state universities in Odisha, is extending all-out support to the state and District Administration in India’s fight against the Covid 19 pandemic. This NAAC (level A), ICAR and UGC 12(b) accredited university is always committed to its mission of empowering communities and has designed a well-knit plan to fight Covid 19.

The esteemed university has proactively worked with the District Administration to transform one of its hostels in Gajapati with a capacity of 250 students into a Covid hospital with 100+ beds. It has deployed over 8 support staffs at this hospital, and other resources so that the hostel could be transformed into a hospital in quick time, effectively.

CUTM is closely collaborating with local communities around its campuses to fight the Covid 19  pandemic in the state. It is leveraging all its resources and facilities to provide the District Administration with the required support in various spheres. Meals are being cooked and supplied for more than 40 healthcare professionals everyday. It has offered vehicles equipped with fuel and driver to support the activities of the District Administration. The institution is also offering various other resources as needed to local Panchayat and District Administrations around its campuses.

The staffs, faculty and senior leaders of the institution are wholeheartedly committed to coordinate these efforts and drive them. The University’s Senior Leadership team is an active participant in supportive activities to the District Administration as well as the wider community to satisfy any urgent needs or to offer informal advice, whenever needed.

Protective cotton face masks are being produced at the Apparel Center of CUTM, which is operational and capable of producing over 1800 masks per day. Masks have been supplied already to the Mineral Exploration Corporation of India in Nagpur and Commissionerate of Police, Cuttack and Bhubaneswar.

CUTM’s 50+ faculty have made direct contributions to the CM fund and PM CARE fund for Coronavirus. The institution is supporting over 120 differently abled people staying in its campuses during this time. Some staffs staying in its campus and assigned to ensure workshops, electric equipment, kitchens etc are always there, ready to serve. CUTM is leading from the front and is definitely setting an example for others in the educational field and other spheres to come forward and help India to fight Coronavirus and emerge as the winner from this deadly disease.
